Oriental rugs require special care. They are costly, often hand-made of natural fibers that are not colorfast and in some cases heirlooms that have intrinsic value that goes beyond dollars and cents. Traditional methods used to clean carpets cannot be applied to them, and therefore, most cleaning companies won’t deal with them because they are not properly equipped to handle these delicate items.
Some wonder how effective these methods can be. Recently, decided to take some pictures of one carpet that I was cleaning to try to demonstrate the amount of dirt that can be removed safely from them. It can be a real eye-opener if you’ve never had your oriental rugs cleaned before. Check this out:

We had a number of homes and businesses in the Stowe Area that had been flooded and damaged after Hurricane Irene. A typical example was that of Down East Tile on the Sylvan Park Road. The heavy rainfall caused water to overflow the culvert behind their back bank and come flooding down and into their store. The result was a 1/4 inch of muddy silt that covered their showroom floor. This called for a quick response so that they could get their business back up and running. We repeatedly scrubbed and extracted all the sand and silt and delivered our LGR industrial dehumidifiers to get the moisture out of the building and back to acceptable levels.
We were very busy helping a number of homes and businesses like Down East Tile to get their life and livelihood back after that awesome rainfall. Living in Vermont teaches you to be resilient!

Recently, I had an opportunity to clean the upholstery of a chair that had been used by the homeowner’s dog for quite some time. As you can see from the picture, Fido had done quite on job on the fabric. I decided to pause halfway through the process of cleaning the seat cushion to snap this photo. Actually, although heavily soiled, the fabric was in rather good condition, which probably explains why the homeowner decided to attempt to clean the chair rather than replace it. Over the years, I have found an environmentally-friendly cleaner that works excellent in applications like this. I must admit, I had to go over it several times, but in the end, the chair was restored to a presentable condition and the homeowner was thrilled. Fido seemed pleased too.

Especially during this wet spring we’ve seen a dramatic increase in the number of people affected by water damage due to flooding. In response to the increased demand, we’ve just completed the purchase of additional top line equipment, including a trailer mounted carpet extractor, some industrial Hepa air filtration equipment and air movers. The goal is to augment our carpet cleaning and water damage restoration services to ensure a rapid response and quality results.

Well, it looks like the worst of the flooding is now over. We have been going full-steam helping out a lot of our neighbors during one of the most challenging spring-times on record for flooding. Apparently, we’re not the only ones to notice. We got a call from Fox 44 News.They were doing a piece on flood damage in Stowe and asked for an interview, but we just didn’t have the time to stop and talk. We hope they’ll keep us in mind in the future. We’d love to get little Lydia on TV…

Before we arrive, please move all small items of furniture lamps, vases, pictures, coffee tables etc. from the area to be cleaned.
Please remove drawers or heavy contents from dressers or night stands that are to be moved during cleaning.
Remove children’s toys from the carpet area
